In addition to vessel and electrical system design, we offer other services that may be of interest. If you
have a particular need and do not see it here, contact us anyway...we may be able to help. Building and Design Consulting - We are available for consultation on any subject relating to boat design and construction. This can be useful to a professional builder who does not have a designer on staff or to a person who is designing and /or building a boat on their own and would like additional guidance through the process. Rhino Consulting and Tutoring - Moose Island Design offers consultation and tutoring in Rhino CAD 3D software for professionals and beginners alike. Michael Chudy has extensive experience both in the use of Rhino as a yacht design tool and as a Rhino Instructor (see Bio). Our consultation service for professional users is intended to help you be more productive in working with Rhino or its rendering program Flamingo. For those new to Rhino, or who just need a little guidance through the basics of the software, we offer tutoring through the Rhino Level One or Level Two Training. This can be done at your convenience over the Internet or as on-site training at your place of business. Please call or e-mail to discuss your needs. Hourly Rate, plus travel costs if applicable. Half Hull Modeling - Using lines drawings in boat construction is a fairly recent convention. In olden days, builders often used half models, carved by themselves or others, as their guide in boat building. Some designers and builders today will still use half models to help visualize boat shape and better understand how the boat will react to its environment, though computerization has largely taken over that role. Half models have become, to many, works of art - visual expressions of their interest in their own boat or other historical vessels. We at Moose Island Design share this enthusiasm for Half Hulls, and are pleased to offer half hull modeling to our design clients and the general public. We can model your existing boat, dream boat, or any boat of historical interest,* as a beautifully hand carved and finished product mounted on a distinctive background. You would have a choice of a variety of woods and finishes. Please call or e-mail us about your ideas.
