Molly T 23
We're doing a complete set
of plans for the Molly T 23, which have been ordered by two customers.
She's a small tug, basically designed for coastal cruising, with good range and comfort for two people. There will be more information
on this boat, including interior layout, range, and tankage in the near
future.
Shibumi 60
Shibumi is a 60' sloop with shallow, 5' draft with a dropping
centerboard. Designed for long-range offshore cruising, she will be a "green" boat...not using any fossil
fuel!! We are in the process of doing the concept now, and these renderings show the preliminary
shape, but not the final product. More information will follow, including interior layout, as the boat develops.
Shibumi, we are told, is a Japanese word which refers to a particular aesthetic of simple, subtle, and unobtrusive beauty.
Narraguagus 62
A 62' two masted centerboard schooner re-design
of the framing and floors which were in bad condition, as well as recommended keel repairs. MID will also completely
re-design the interior per the current owner's requirements. The rig will be re-worked and slightly updated as well as increasing the keel depth to improve her sailing
characteristics.
Sea Troll in Steel
We've nearly completed a
steel version of the Sea Troll for a client. The original was
designed to be a wooden boat, so we
needed to change the hull to accommodate the extra mass in the
superstructure, among other things.
2 x 2 25 foot Sailboat
This sailboat is currently designed and will be built
in the cold-molded construction technique starting in the Spring of 2007. She is a very roomy boat for her length and has two
cabins, one forward and one aft behind the cockpit. Click the image for
more details. Look for further diagrams of the boat in the very near future.
Uniflite Conversion
The conversion of a Uniflite Utility Launch to a
passenger carrying excursion boat. These launches were originally built
for the US Navy as tenders for Destroyers. This one was completely open with a
center console. MID designed the new cabin and deck spaces.
Half Hull Model
Moose Island Design carved a half model of the Letter
of Marque "Zebra" (Later HMS "Pictou") for a local historian, to lines obtained
from the National Maritime Museum in London, England.
