Length: 102' Beam: 22' Draft: 7'3" Displacement: 87,776 Lbs. More Pictures The Eos concept is about designing maximum efficiency rather than maximum speed or space. She has a wave piercing bow which is more efficient at all speeds, not just one speed such as that of a conventional bulbous bow. Eos is equipped with twin 225 to 275 hp continuous engines mounted on a single shaft with an electric or hydraulic clutch system connected to a controllable pitch propeller. This allows for an easy cruising speed of 13 knots while using about 240 hp. If more economy/range is desired, one could cut out one engine, slow down to 10 knots, and adjust the propeller accordingly. At this speed only about 175 hp would be needed. This concept gives the Eos a large cruising range due to the fuel economy of the hull design and the propulsion system. |
