Duchess 60 |
|
Length: 60 Beam: 16 Draft: 8 Displacement: 82,752 lbs. More Pictures Duchess is a seaworthy world cruiser whose style was influenced by the Cogs of northern Europe. Her most prominent feature is her raised aft deck. This area could be the great aft cabin as is usually the case, or instead could serve as an enclosed pilot house with navigation equipment and charts. It could be used during inclement weather or as a place to get away from the sun and severe heat. The door between this area and the cockpit slides down into a self-draining pocket accessible from the engine room. There are only two steps down from the cockpit to this area allowing easy movement between cockpit and pilot house by crew and guests to reach the navigation area or have lunch at the table. There could also be direct access between cockpit and main salon. This of course, would be the choice of the new owner, as would be the rest of the layout of this boat, including the interior accommodations, sail plan, and even style changes of the hull if desired. |
